Tutorial on how to correct a digital photo’s exposure using the histogram tool. This lesson uses Adobe Lightroom as a demonstration tool but the concepts can be used on other advanced photo manipulation software such as Apple Aperture or Photoshop CS.
The end of DigitalJournalist.org?

The very popular DigitalJournalist online photojournalist magazine reports that they may have to end soon because its main sponsor, Canon, has pulled out. That’s quite unfortunate since DigitalJournalist is an amazing resource for photojournalists, and showcases very important stories by some really talented photographers.
They’re asking for help from their readers through paypal pledges to keep the site afloat for now. I hope they can achieve their goals as the site is one of my favourites.

Sony Alpha A850 (24.6MP) – the cheapest full frame DSLR on the market

The recently released Sony Alpha A850 is making waves in the DSLR market. With the full-frame 24.6 MP Exmor CMOS sensor (same as the flagship A900), in-camera image stabilization, and professional level auto-focus and metering, the camera offers a lot for its US $2000 price tag. Is it enough to make a dent in the prosumer market dominated by Nikon and Canon?

The Best Nikon Lens Combo for Street Photography

Street photography is one of the most popular photography styles that attracts people to the field. It’s also one of the hardest arts to master, not only because of the technical difficulties in finding interesting compositions and being able to handle the camera on the fly, but also because many people are intimidated by shooting photographs of strangers on the street. This is why small, compact lenses are ideal for this type of photography, in fact many street photographers use smaller more inconspicuous cameras as well so as not to bring attention to themselves in public, allowing them to shoot intimate moments they would otherwise have disturbed.
